Refer for Domicillary Care

Referring for Domicillary care is not a specific option in the system

  • There is currently no option on the system to refer for, or indicate that a patient requires domiciliary care for advice.

  • According to locally agreed guidance, in order to refer for a domicile patient, there has to be a specific clinical reason. If the dentist has been unable to physically assess the patient or determine the complication, they should either arrange for the patient or their carer to self-refer into Community Dental Services (CDS); alternatively, the patient's GP may do this.

  • You may still enter in the 'Patient Associated Modifiers' question in the medical history section, that a patient is domicile to notify the provider.

Please note:

Should you wish to query this further please contact your local area team, the Rego support team cannot help with this issue. We encourage you to send the referral and allow the provider to make the decision.
