Can't see a Treatment?

When selecting from the reasons for referral should some services not appear please check the following

  • Please check the following:

    • First and foremost please check that the service is available in your area via the 'What Services and Available in My Area?' section on the page before this.
    • If a service is not available then it is likely that the GP practice for the patient is the issue: The system will attempt to automatically pull the GP practice for a patient from the national database. If so, you can see the GP by selecting 'GP Details' at the top of the page.
    • Please ensure when you go to send a referral that the patient is registered with a GP in the area Rego is commissioned. Should the patients GP be from another CCG (where the system has not been commissioned) then please refer the patient to that area via their local process. You can check a GP's CCG by searching via the NHS choices website and see which CCG published the information about a GP.
    • Also, should you enter the patients GP manually via the 'Other' option then you will not be offered certain services including extractions. The GP list offered to you is a comprehensive list of GP practices in the local area where Rego is commissioned.
    • We have noticed that some GP practices have begun to merge, in this instance should a GP practice be a subsidiary site of the group, and if that subsidiary does not appear on the list then please select the main site as they will store the patients details also.
Please note:

Should the system pull the patients GP automatically then neither the user or the support team can change that without clarification. Please ask the patient to check where they are registered.

The drop-down list provided should include all GP practices within the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) where Rego has been commissioned.

According to the guidelines agreed by the local commissioners, patients who are not registered with an NHS GP practice can not be referred via this service. It is recommended that you discuss this with the patient and encourage them to register with a NHS GP practice.

If the patient is manually entered or registered with an NHS practice that falls outside the CCG regions that Rego is commissioned within, a message will appear advising that the patient is considered ‘Out of Area’ and that the services available may be restricted
